Today is a free day in Paris; the bike ride is over, the staff has departed, and most of the cyclists will leave tomorrow, as I will. I have a TGV train to Avignon, and then a few days of biking in the Luberon, and finally my attempt to bike to the summit of Mont Ventoux. It is then off to Marseille and the flights home. It has been a great adventure!

Today Rick, Dan and I mastered the Paris subway system and found our way to the Eiffel Tower and a Bateau Moche boat ride on the Seine past the Louvre and the scarred Nortre Dame Cathedral. We saw the Police preparations for the Tour de France to enter the city later this evening. We Will probably watch it on TV with a group of cyclists, as we have early departures in the morning.
